Off he go!! 

On wednesday 16th July, I brought Edison to hospital with a super heavy heart !! Hate this feeling!! He going for his PET scan tdy to check if he got relapse ....arrgghhh... tears streaming down when i see him.. Y this 5 yrs old kids need to suffer soo much ... he needs to fight with cancer devils  to survive. Y he is not like those normal kids who can enjoy their childhood...so many Y Y Y in my super headache brains.. haix haix!! Once again, edison did those big machine scan effortlessly . No sedation needed. Just Jesus songs can make him lie still ...Proud of him!!! Whenever I hear edison singing Jesus songs, i am moved and encouraged by him!! Once again, my fighting and positive spirits is immediately lifted!!! My heart beats soo fast when doctor going to review his PET scan report ..these words will always ringing in my ears " the scan is clean. No relapse" Praise God!! My tears stream again but this round is overwhelming tears...Yes Yes..God is Good!! Was told bcos the scan is clean.. it mean that the positive bone marrow is the residues from previous chemo. He just need to continue his oral medication for the residues treatment. Thank you Daddy God for watching over Edison.. I Love you!! 

15th July 2014 Edison 5th Birthday

Today is 15th July 2014. Edison is 5 yrs old today. Times flies soo fast. On this special day, i received a bad news from his doctor. His bone marrow assessment report is out: left side is positive with NB cancer cells. Upon hearing tis news, tears streaming non stop...Edison, the reason y mummy is crying non stop today is bcos of this report and not bcos u are naughty!! Arrgghhh!!! Cancer sucks !!! His left bone marrow is cleared after 6th chemo. How come it tested positive again !!! Endless endless of Y Y Y in my head!!!! After calming down , edmund called the doctor to know more infor. Was told that edison urine marker is normal. Hence they need edison to do PET scan tmr to check the NB cell in the bone marrow is positive or negative. Positive - new NB cells growing. Negative - old/residue NB cells dying. In the name of Jesus, i declared Edison is forever Cancer free. PET scan report will be the good news we are awaiting for. AMEN!!!

On 8th July, Edison went for his 1st bone marrow assessment ( his treatment protocol ended last wk).  Need to wait 1 wk for the report out. I believed that Daddy God is watching over him and report will definitely be good news!! Update once I got hold of the report!! Today is his longest outpatient stay, doing bone marrow assessment, platelets and red blood transfusion and wbc booster. This is good so he only have 1 port insertion and all done at 1 go!! Next FBC should be next wk cos tis wk will be stable! That great cos he will be busy for his birthday celebration this coming weekend!! Hippy horrary!!

Hippy horray!! Edison love July very much!! This mth is his Birthday month!! On 4th July, I brought Edison to NUH CCF July Birthday party. He was soo excited and counting down when i told him 1 wk ago. Told me this is a great place!! The joys on his face is worth the long drive...😊😊. He was the only july children attending the party. In the end, it look like his birthday party instead! CCF gave him his fav cartoon angry bird balloon, people singing birthday song to him, he cut the cake and receive presents( his fav again : angry bird jacket and slippers). He love the party to his max!! I feel soo encouraged and proud of his selfless birthday wish  " I wish Jesus to protect Everybody !!" AMEN!! Holy spirits had guided him very well.

Edison volunteer for the show 

During his 1st 100 days after transplant, edison is suppose to stay at home and hospital visit only. Instruction by his doctor cos BMT take longer to recover and counts not stable. However, i believe he is well protected by the invisible shield Jesus had covered him. I brought him to his Treasured class every sunday cos he always countdown to sunday and very eager to go church. I brought him to NUH CCF activities ( magic show, art therapy and july birthday). By God Grace, he never caught any infection. A testimony to share: last month.. our kovan house was infested with bugs. Everyone were sick: Rick fever and runny nose, karen fever and coughing. All 5 adults were coughing. We try to take precautions to prevent edison caught the bugs. But it really difficult cos all of us stay in the same roof and edison immunity counts  is only 1.14-1.5 ( average healthy child immunity is 10) mean he had Very Low Immunity.   We prayed to daddy God every nite that germs , bacteria and infection will not touch edison. Subsequently, Karen caught HFMD and we faster isolate her at toa payoh. 4days later, rick also got red spots on his legs and palm...arrgghhh...HFMD too!! Plan changed: we shifted karen bk to kovan so 2 HFMD can play with each other and edison and i shifted to geylang. My heart was thumping thumping.. will edison caught the HFMD ?? I brushed off my negative thoughts and continue our nightly prayers. Praise God!! By God Grace, not even a single bug touched edison... no HFMD, no runny nose , no fever and no coughing!! He is healthy!!!  He is super shield and protected and watched over by daddy God!! AMEN!!

Finished his 11 radiation. 

Long time no updates. On + Day 46, edison went for his 1st radiation treatment. He need to receive 11 rounds of radiation. Was soo worry he cannot lie still for his radiation cos he will be alone in the room for ard 2mins. 2mins for adults is nothing. But for a 5yrs old kids with those big machine surround him and beams of infra lights and no sedation is a challenge! Praise God, He did it effortlessly. In fact, he love the radiation process soo much and when was told only 11 rounds.. he soo disappointed. He wan more rounds cos after every round, nurses will give him snacks as rewards for well behaved. Among all his rewards,  He love the 100 jesus song CD the best. Thks u very much Nurse June for ur thoughtful act.

tips to share: was told his side effect of his Radiation is nausea, vomit and diarrhea. Remedy: definitely pray to Jesus and consume mangosteens during his treatment. Mangosteens really help cos it a remedy for anti diarrhea. By God Grace, radiation is the easiest treatment for him cos he got the least side effects.

Today is 5th June. My godma birthday!! Brought my 3 kids to her place and have a mini surprise birthday with her!! 1st time of my life going out with 3 of my kids. And 1st time in my godma life having birthday celebration with her 3 grandchildren. Loves to see the joys on her face.. guess this is the best presents she ever received. After edison encounter with cancer monster, my life had changed but for the better. Will not take everything for granted and no longer $$ control my life. Will spend and treasure every moments with my loves ones. Blessed to have 2 mummies to support and love me!! 

+Day 29

On Monday, edison did his FBC and hg 7.4 and platelets only 5. Hence the next day,  he was admitted for blood and platelets transfusion. He refused to sleep in bed and want to lie on his stroller. Asked me what is the fastest way for time to pass so he can go home faster. Told him to sleep and Yes, he managed to sleep almost 2hrs in his stroller. Platelets take the longest time to engraft and he need transfusion every week. In the name of Jesus, make edison platelets miracle and amazing faster engraft and he dun need transfusion anymore. AMEN!!

Today is 31th May.. Finally School holidays start.. edison awaited this day very long. Cos he looking forward to play with his fav cousin Amanda. Today, me bring karen and edison to Amanda house. Bakery Guru Xiu e came over to be ur teacher. They are having baking class today. See their cute aprons sponsored by their teacher. See the joys of their faces, they enjoy the baking and munching their finishing works. Thumbs Up 👍 to Xiu e, u really brighten up their day!! Looking forward the next class!! 

Tips to share for stemcell transplant

For stemcell transplant..I am most worried is the mouth part. I heard horror stories of mouth full with ulcers when their immunity hit zero and the children were crying in pain and will only recover when counts are up. Hence I had been searching  infor and advice on oral hygiene from ex mummies before transplant start. . I trying means of ways to prevent edison had any  uclers during the transplant period.  Thks to buddies rina helping me to order tis toothpaste from US ..somehow i feel that it did works for edison. My tips : I used this toothpaste during his chemo times for him to get used to the taste and use it regularly during transplant ( only stop when he nil by mouth). Have dental check before his transplant( he extracted 2 teeth and 4 filling) and no cavities. Make his mouth moist and cold by sucking ice cubes or gargle with cold salt water very often. Si bath ( bum soak with warm salt water) twice per day. Lather with tons of body oil all over his body after every shower( twice per day). And Most important Pray Pray pray!  RESULT-- by God Grace,  I feel he suffer the least side effects of high dose chemo + stemcell transplant. No Ulcers throughout the period!! No dryness all over his body. No diaper rash on his bum. THANK you Daddy God!! Amen!!

By God Grace, edison had discharged 6days earlier than expected. He had recovered faster than expected. Amen!! Hippy hooray!! He is soo thrilled when he hear the word from Dr * u can go home tdy*. Before he was admitted.. he told me he wan to wear Super Adventure Mickey Mouse clothes when he discharged. Cos this is his last hospital stay and he is as powerful as the Mickey Mouse!! A very Big thank You for my buddies Rina and Xiu e for rushing this handmade with love clothes for him. 1 only only pc in the whole world.  He is flying over the moon when he saw his wish clothes!! Thank you very much buddies for making his wish come true!!

Today is Sunday!! Edison is very happy cos he received surprise presents from church. Presents is given to every children in the ward!! See the joys on his face!! 

+Day 11

Tdy counts : Hb 10.5  Wbc 1.70  Anc  1.16  Plt 63

Praise God!! Edison ANC huge jumped again. From yesterday 0.60 to 1.16 !! Doctor is pleased with the results and he had stopped all medication. Today will also be his last day on nutritional drips. Today he try to eat just 10spoonful of porridge and soup only. A Good start!! JIAYOU!! 

+Day 10

Today counts: Hb 11.6 Wbc 0.93 Anc 0.60 Plt 12. Plt transfusion tdy.
Praise God!! His counts had shoot up amazing fast tdy. Yesterday ANC 0.05 but  today is  0.60 !!! Bcos his counts are up, his tongue is getting better. Bleeding getting lesser and tongue not so raw and still able to stick out his tongue for a shot!! He had been nil from mouth for 11days. Today, doctor asked me to give him some water and cornflakes ( cos he craving for soo long). Haiz!!! He seems not able to swallow down anything. After drink and chewing..will spit out instead of swallowing down his throat. Maybe he had already use to the spitting action or maybe his throat still not ok. No worries,  i will not feel discouraged cos he had already recover faster than expected. Will go slow and try again these few days. Thank You Daddy God for answering our prayers!!

Past few days, the Wbc was climbing up very slow. Finally on +Day 9 , it shoot up higher. As usual, edison is still alert even though counts was low. He still spitting saliva but frequency getting lesser and lesser. His tongue past 2 days was very raw and bleeding. During the day, streak of blood will come out when he spit saliva. At nite when he sleep, it get bloody saliva whenever he spit. Doctor assured me it is common and normal cos dead cells are removed and new cell growing. His diarrhea also getting better.. fequency lesser and stool color change. From green stool and now changing to yellow /brown stool- this is a great sign. He miss his sister very much ..always in tears say he wan to go home find meimei. And Yes! I had decided to shift bk Kovan after his discharge. Cos edison and me  prefer to go bk kovan and stay as a family一家团居!!  Looking forward to his discharge and our Kovan house!!

+ Day 6

                 

Today is Mother's Day!! This morning, the moment edison wake up..he pull my hand and give me a peck of kiss on my rosy cheeks...and tell me Happy Mother Day!! A great start of the Day!!! This is the best present i ever received!! Love my edison soo much!! And Karen call me and wish me Happy Mother Day!! Feel soo loved by my children.

His today counts :
HB 11.0 Wbc 0.19 Anc 0 Plt 74. The night before,  he did blood and Plt infusion and hence both increased. Wbc and Anc still the same. But i can sense that it climbing up soon. The reason: he look much better, no vomiting liao, no intense stomach pain. Hippy!! Counting down to our stay and looking forward for his counts to shoot up!! Yesterday nite, he cry cos he got this intense pain on his teeth and tongue...tears stream down his cheek and told me very pain. Immediately, i told him i ask doctor for medicine. I am amazed and proud of his reply. He told me NO. Ask me to pray to Jesus to take away the pain. He got this awesome FAITH!! After praying, he continue to play his ipad and the pain is GONE!! Praise God!! Amen !!

+Day 5

Today ALL counts  hit the lowest. 

Hb 7.9 Wbc 0.19 Anc 0 Plt 14

Edison ANC hit the ZERO counts!! Mean he got zero immunity!!  

He still active and doesn't look and feel sick. No vomiting liao. But the bucket is for his to spit saliva non stop. He is spitting thick and sticky saliva whole day cos of throat inflammation. He also blowing his nose mucus non stop. He having diarrhea too - ard 10-12 times per day but this is a good sign cos he will get either vomit or diarrhea to pass out the toxics and diarrhea will be a better choice!! I am relieved that these are the side effects he got!! Cos these are consider minor side effects!! Thank you Daddy God for protecting him and sending angels to surround him !! 

+Day 4

Hb 8.7 Wbc 0.14. Anc 0.01 Plt 29. 

Although his counts is lower than yesterday...but he is better . Cos he learnt the trick of spitting the thick and sticky saliva instead of vomiting. As such , he is not cranky and active in the day. Presents Day again!!! CCF valerie brought presents for edison and he had been looking forward for it. A full bag of jig saw puzzles and arts and crafts to occupy his time. Tdy he did 2 sets of jigsaw puzzles and window sticker arts and crafts during the day. Tdy only vomit 2 times at nite and neutropenic fever 38.4..almost need to insert suppository to bring down the fever. Edison hate suppository(insert med via his anus). Immediately i prayed to Daddy God to command edison fever dropped immediately and will not hit 38.5. Praise God!! He never fails me again..temp drop and drop to 37.8 throughout the nite. BYE suppository...edison dun need u.. God is all he need!!! 

Valerie not only visit edison, she also took the time to visit karen and pass her presents. See the joys on karen face!! CCF had been a great pillar of support for cancer patients family. Really love what they are doing!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
